Being in the child care field is great but with the economy changing and it seems like more parents are starting to open child care homes themselves and having a new baby at 38 has made me rethink my future in the child care industry. I have an Associates in Early Childhood Ed and I am continuing my education so that I can have other options. There are some options that I know of and sound great but I am still exploring to see what they are. Can anyone give me any suggestions

What you are saying are true, and I understand your concerns regarding the industry. But I have found that you can never have enough child care, whether if it's in a center or home-based. There are centers coming up around me, but parents are pulling their children from the centers into the homes, especially if they have children younger than 3 years old. I myself have gone back to school to get my BA in ECE. Another option is for you to become a director in a center. I hope this helps.
