I play this game with the kids a church a lot and I have found that my daycare kids love it, too! You can set up teams by dividing the play area into 4 squares/circles. Or, for a smaller group, one line down the middle works fine. The object of the game is to throw sponges to the other team's space. When a sponge lands on your side, you throw it back. At the end of a set time, the team with the least amount of sponges on thier side wins.
For summer, it's fun to dip the sponges in water buckets first...you know they're gonna get wet anyway...

FYI...for the game, I try to have enough so that each child starts out with 2 sponges.
